3.9/ 5This is a nice scanner. Works well on my 2006 Honda Accord and 2016 Tacoma. It’s not going to have a lot transmission and airbag bi-directional support. But for engine codes it does a good job, in my limited experience.

Answer: I’m not sure if it will read a code for your issue, but I would hazard to guess that the reason you are seeing the red light is because you have an antenna issue. Buying this unit would be overkill – it’s more a semi-professional tool for OBDII and, unless you intend to diagnose/fix a lot of cars, it’s very expensive. I would take your car to either a dealer (best choice), mechanic or an auto store (least likely) and have them read the code (you don’t need to fix it there, just get it read and then decide). From a different view, if you are comfortable with auto repair/diagnosis and want a good reader (even just so you can see what something might be), this is an excellent tool (like a said, might be a bit overkill though and a lower model may be a better choice). - Question: Can you perform functional tests IE: evap leak test, trigger lights, horn, etc?
